[This question is in response to my response to Chuck Colson, available on this site, where I sketch out several different meanings of the word "truth."]
Great question ... two quick thoughts come to mind.
My guess is that Jesus' statement in John 14:6 meant something pretty different from what we assume. I think he was saying I am the way/truth/life - one rich thing, rather than three distinct things, in contrast to Thomas' statement about not knowing "the way," as if the way were a technique or agenda or concept removed from relationship with Jesus.
Our modern "objective truth" paradigm blinds us to the more Biblical understanding that the ultimate reality (God) is personal, not impersonal, and therefore subjective (not objective). So - the real ultimate capital T Truth (i.e. Absolutely Ultimate Reality) is God, and therefore personal.
