I've never written to an author before...

Brian,
I am sure you receive these emails quite a bit (and some other view points as well) but I just finished your book "A New Kind of Christian" and...

I wanted to tell you that it has REVOLUTIONIZED MY LIFE! I NEVER email an author to tell them anything. I recommend books, or do a verbal 'sales pitch' of a particular book or article but I just had to email you personally. I am a pastors wife but only for a short time more.

Our church is going through some HUGE changes. Major surgery if you will. From contemporary Modern to Post-modern thinking. This was before I read your book! I couldn't believe that everything you wrote and what I was reading at that moment what was happening to our church and leadership. Amazing!
We are not sure if we are presiding over a funeral with our church (I think we are) and burying it and THEN the resurrection of a new kind of church! We are SO excited to see the changes but it has been one of the hardest things we've ever been through. The spiritual, emotional, and even physical blows have been...well there are NO words for it.

My faith has been tested and I remember saying not that long ago, "If this is what church is all about, I will never go back. They eat their own." Just as Dan in your book said, "I have never been hurt by a non-christian as much as I have those who are."

BUT then I read your book! You sang my song and I feel like Dan, as if I have become a true follower of Christ for the first time. Finding my value in who He says I am, not others.

I could go on and on but I want you to know that even if everyone else (and I know that isn't the case) had negative things to say of you and banned you from speaking that you have changed ONE life by your words. Thank you thank you thank you.
